This writing in this email about Robert Lockwood Jr. and the reference to god is really fucking incredible.
I hope to have another oppertunity to see you & your show again soon.
I would like to speak with you in person about a great many things.

Hey Peter!
Great to see, and hear you play again last night. You are truly one of the
finest performing cats I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Your sense of melody and phrasing are phenomenal, and your band
swings like there's no tomorrow. And seeing you with performers
like Dennis Gruenling and Buck Dilly was a real treat.
If you get a chance, check out my paintings, and please tell me what you think. I've been doing jazz, blues and rock musicians, and to date have sold 350 paintings in the last 2 years. Don't forget, I still have your portrait I did last year, which I'd like to trade for your live CD when it comes out. Please send me your home address, and I'll mail it to you Peter.

I enjoyed your music last night, thank you. For a Fat
( I was the
Captain Kangaroo look alike so yesterday's my favorite holiday! ) Tuesday it was
quiet up there. May I inquire, rather a cheeky course, as to why you're not on
the Marquis at the Great Notch Inn? I'm not affiliated but am a denizen and
it's right up your alley. Have you been to
Big Johns up in Stockholm? You'd be a god up there! Look I know that these local Jersey shows are just tune ups and a bit of fun but I wish

to enjoy err.. did I say MARVEL at your sound. Anyway thanks again.

I heard your name for a few years and had the pleasure of seeing you and your (talented) band play last night at the Stanhope House. I must say that you have an amazing folky/bluesy/pop/country voice and one day I predict that you will score big in Nashville. I read that you live there: are you trying to get a record deal as a "country" artist? (nowadays 'country' is more like blues/folk/pop anyhow). Your voice and stage presence is what it takes to make it! KEEP PURSUING IT!
Robin
Dear Peter,
Thank you so much for speaking and singing and playing for GLVWG.
I was wonderful. I could tell from your first song that everyone would immediately
understand why I wanted them to hear you.
Your lyrics are amazing, crystal clear in a very visual way, poetic and
emotional.
And I think everyone had a new understanding of the commonality of
experience. All writers share the same thorny path, similar difficulties.
I'm still fighting the flu, but I wanted to express my gratitude.
I'm sorry to be so late getting in touch.
I look forward to seeing you many more times in the future!
Oli
GLVWG
Hey, I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your music at the
GLVWG holiday party last Saturday. I had to duck out as soon as the
festivities concluded, so I didn't get a chance to tell you in person,
so an e-mail will have to be a poor substitute. (I don't expect you
would remember me, but I was one of the people at the table with you
beforehand, on your left.) I really liked the song you wrote for the
occasion; it's not often that Melville and the Greek classics get
mentioned in a song, especially together.
If the group seemed a little bit subdued, I wouldn't let that worry you
- they're that way at every holiday party (and I've been with the group
for a long time, so I ought to know). We really ought to start holding
these things at night, maybe that would loosen them up!

Still playing the CD I got at the "Writers in the Raw" series in Asbury Park, NJ last month. What a pleasant surprise. Love "The Loose Ends"...esp. the Elks clambake line...! Can't wait to see ya at the Jazz and Blues Festival in Red Bank-just sing in the direction of the Jazz & Blues Foundation booth, ok? Nice to know I'll be front and center while volunteering!
Actually-Matawan's not that far.....Maybe I don't have to wait!

peter, peter, peter. you are simply amazing. every time i see you, you blow me away. you guys were awesome friday night at the turning point. the entire band is fantastic-hernandez, niles, and jimmy, but the combination of you and dennis gruenling just puts it over the top. you need to play venues where there's a place to dance! i think i must have burned a whole in my chair dancing in my seat. and hey, i'm waiting to get those pictures of you so i can put my two cents in on changing your web picture--it doesn't come close to doing you justice! i'm doing my best to get the word out on you guys--you should be selling out the garden with the talent you pack. rock on baby!

Peter,
It was good to meet you last night. Hope Dunkin' Donuts got you through the trip home. Your songs and accompaniment were terrific. I just read your bio and have to say I admire you much for being true to yourself. It definitely comes across in your presence.

Peter,
Thought I'd drop you a line to give you my e-mail address. If (when) you play the area again I'd like to hear more of your material. If you get the chance, please let me know about any upcoming dates. Again, just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your style of play and lyrical perspective. I love to watch good musicians at work – to me, it's like watching a magic trick. I just shake my head and wonder how it's done.
Stay well.

I saw PETER KARP and THE ROAD SHOW BAND for the very first time Saturday at THE PARAMUS PICTURE SHOW (a "new" venue for live music); they were excellent, as was Todd Wolfe and Kathy Phillips. I bought your CD, Peter, and this is amazing for many reasons: I had no idea who you were at all Friday night when I found out about the show online (I also bought Kathy's CD); I don't buy CD's much anymore, though I love all kinds of music. You swept me away with your showmanship. The expressions on your face are priceless and none of the photos seem to do you justice - it was like watching someone have a religious experience! For some reason you reminded me very much of two different performers, neither one blues: Harry Chapin and Chris De Burgh! You were 2 songs in when I rushed out to the lobby and bought THE TURNING POINT (latest CD). After the fine show --- wait, let me compliment all of you Bluesmen and call it the AUTHENTIC show --- I rushed up to get an autograph and was struck dumb, I couldn't speak to you!! It was like someone hid Springsteen or Cliff Richard in a box somewhere for twenty years and I just got to see him live. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I hope some iota of this is even further validation for what you are doing; please keep up the good work (all of you) and if you're looking for a street rep for the band, please email me!

Your band is amongst the best that I have ever seen. It's just too bad that your kind of music isn't "mainstream". I am from the South and have seen some of the "greatest" on the waterfront in Memphis. In support, I am spreading by word of mouth just how great I think y'all are. My friends and I have traveled several places in PA to see you live and will keep coming whenever you are in close driving distance. So far, the Bluetone Cafe is the best place! We'll see you there on February 7. Look forward to seeing you then!

I saw Peter Karp and The Road Show recently at The Pine Tavern in Matawan NJ and WOW, what a treat it was. It pleases me that we can still find good live music (and a great CD) in this world of bland radio where the same (hit???) song is played 17 times a day. I got a smile on my face this morning when I heard Peter Karp and one of the songs off the Turning Point CD played on the radio. 89.1 listener supported radio which I support.
